Question: Why does my computer find new hardware when I finish running the Emergency Recovery DVD Rev 1.0 (included in the accessory box)?
Answer: This is due to the updated D-Link wireless G PCI card. Please follow the steps below to update the driver.
- If the following window is displayed at your desktop, please click Cancel to close the window.
- Go to: Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Add or Remove Programs. Click on "Change/Remove" to remove the old AirPlus G.
- After you remove the old software. It is always best to restart your system.
- After you are back at the desktop, you will see the same new hardware found message like in step 1. Just cancel it
- Now insert the DLINK Driver CD which comes with the system.
- The CD will auto run. Click on Install Driver
- Follow the on screen instruction to finish the installation.
- If you see the message window below, just click OK.
- After the installation finishes, restart your computer by clicking Yes, I want to restart my computer now. Then click Finish.
- Once you are back to the desktop, you will see the Found New Hardware Wizard Window again. Choose No, not this time, then click Next.
- Choose Install the software automatically, then click Next.
- The Windows will search the CD. When you see the window below, choose the driver at the location d:\driver\manual\winxp\mrv8k51.inf. Then click Next.
- You will see this message below, just click on Continue Anyway.
- When you see this window, click on Finish.
- You have just completed the Wireless Driver and Utility setup. Please restart the system and enjoy your new Fry's FS7870 Personal Computer.
Question: Why are my removable drives’ icons in "My Computer" different after running the Emergency Recovery DVD Rev 1.0 (included in the accessory box)?
Answer: You have to update the card reader driver. Please click here to download the driver for the card reader.
